Employment will check cultism, AIG prompts Abia govt

The Associate inspector General of Police, Zone 9, Umuahia, Isaac Akinmoyede, has approached government to produce work for young people and give a climate helpful for ventures, to check cultism and different indecencies.

He settled on the decision when the Abia part of the Police campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices paid a civility and backing visit to him in his office on Friday.

Zone 9 involves Abia, Imo and Ebonyi commands.

As indicated by Akinmoyede, one of those helpful environments is security.

He said the police were attempting all inside their means to guarantee the general public became secured.

The police chief, who denounced the rising cultism, said it had gone past the higher foundations and boiled down to secondary schools.

The previous Chief of Police in plateau and Imo, communicated laments that even artisans were currently engaged with cultism, saying, “it is actually a major headache” Akinmoyede said ceaseless strikes and different conditions that got understudies far from school, had consistently prompted the ascent in street cultism.

He said, “But thank God the schools are up and doing again, and it is believed that when schools are kept busy, there will be reduction in vices in the society.

“Policing is not an easy task, all what is required is continued support from members of the public and the POCACOV, to ensure that we are able to do our job in the best possible way.”

The AIG who commended the group for doing a lot for the police and the society, pledged his support “and in any way I know I can contribute towards the growth of POCACOV, I will do so.”

Prior, the Abia Executive of POCACOV, Mrs Adanma Odefa-Wachuku, who drove the appointment, commended the inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, for setting up POCACOV.

Odefa-Wachuku depicted local area policing as the present and future of policing “in light of the fact that every one of the hoodlums, cultists and other people who take part in different indecencies are from families and networks.”

As per her, POCACOV has a similar goal with the police, which is to check cultism that is deteriorating in the city.The News Agency of Nigeria reports that POCACOV is a local area driven drive of the Nigeria Police to sharpen various partners to the risks of cultism and different indecencies.
